Al-Ameen
Institute of Information Sciences
was started as pet of Al-Ameen Arts, Science & Commerce
Degree College in the year 1999 but was bifurcated in the
year 2007. The college has 14 full time faculty members and
5 visiting faculty, with 3 faculty members engaged in research
leading to Ph.D and are likely to get decorates within a year
or two.
Al-Ameen College of Law was started in the
year 1991 with only 3 years courses but later 5 years course
was added. The college has about 17 faculty members both full
time and guest faculty from different courts of Bangalore.
The results are about 80%. The college is affiliated to Bangalore
University.
Pre University College is the First College to be started
in 1968 when it was a one year course affiliated to Bangalore
University. Today this has become two year course affiliated
to Pre University Board, Karnataka. Along with Primary and
higher secondary school is lodged in the other campus. It
has following combinations in Science, Arts and Commerce.
Every year on an average 100 students join professional Colleges
in the State of Karnataka on merit. It has a faculty of 30
full time and 12 part time with 2 Ph.D’s and 5 M.Phil’s.
faculty members of Pre University College have attended and
participated in State level conferences on Pre University
education and few of them as resource persons in their respective
subjects.
The Al Ameen primary and Higher Secondary School
is in the same campus with infrastructure running on lines
of ICSE pattern through it has State Level 10th Standard scheme.
The high school has 11 faculty members with 5 Post Graduates
and rests are Graduates with B.Ed. Al-Ameen Primary School
has 12 faculty members with 4 Post Graduates.
The executive Council of Al-Ameen Educational Society has
37 members with Mr. Syed Sadaqth Peeran as the Chairman, Mr
R Roshan Baig,Mr. Md. Ateeq Ahmed as the Vice Chairman, Mr.
Irfan Razack as the Honorary Secretary, Mr. Younus Mohammed
as the Treasurer, Prof, M.A. Ataulla as the Joint Secretary
& Campus Director, Mr Shafiulla as the Joint Secretary
& Prof Y. Azeez Ahmed as the Asst. Secretary cum Special
Officer.
Dr. B. Sheik Ali, Former Vice-Chancellor of Goa and Mangalore
University, Dr. A.M. Pathan, Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad
National Urdu University & the former Vice Chancellor
of Karnataka University. And Dr. M Khaja Peer, Former Vice
Chancellor of Karnataka University, Dharwad is also associated
as members of the Executive Council.
The Executive Council Members of Al-Ameen Educational Society
have jointly started Al-Ameen Scholarships Committee which
collects the Zakath money every year. Every year 65 lakhs
of Rupees are distributed to the deserving meritorious poor
students to pursue education from primary level to professional
courses.
The Executive Committee holds monthly meetings to review the
academic activities.
Hyman Resource Development programmes are conducted for personality
Development for faculty and student in batches. A follow up
study indicates that it has a considerable bearing in cultivating
positive attitudes among faculty and students.
Education week in May/June every year is observed by Al-Ameen
College of Education to penetrate into slum areas of the city
to awaken an insight into Socio-Economic and Educational dimensions
in families. Families are visited and counseling is done with
regard to Drop outs.
National Open school sanctioned by the Ministry of HRD, Government
of India has permitted an intake of 500 seats both in English
and Urdu medium.
The campus also has facilities to pursue higher education
through distance education. This facility is provided in Indira
Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Maulana Azad National
Urdu University (MNNUU) study centers of the campus.
Recently a “Road Map” (Vision
paper) for the next 15 years is prepared which envisages a
short time and long time plan which takes the Al-Ameen through
Autonomous to Deemed University by 2015
